Assist in building predictive models in Excel.

Data Skills:

• Strong Excel skills: familiarity with macros
• Familiarity with standard statistical packages (SPSS, SAS or Systat)
• Some programming background: (Visual Basic or C++) (Helpful, but optional)
• At ease working with large data sets
• Data precision: incorporates internal data checks

Data Savvy:

• Conceptual understanding of underlying statistical premise, meaning…
• Can see 'past the numbers'
• Willing to apply concepts creatively, rather than 'by the book'
• Can apply approaches across studies – 'if it works here, it ought to work there'
• Interpersonal skills
• Enthusiasm and a strong desire to learn new approaches and techniques
• Able to clearly articulate conceptual findings; comfortable speaking in public
• Ability to be organized across multiple projects

Educational background: Bachelor’s in math, statistics or related field helpful

We are seeking a bright, energetic Research Analyst with between one (1) and two (2) years solid research experience, preferably with a market research supplier conducting primary (not secondary) research.

Applicants should have a basic understanding of research operations, ideally in methodologies that go beyond Internet (i.e. CLT, CATI). Experience with basic questionnaire construction, field and tab, including the ability to write tab specs for table preparation is expected. Any exposure to report preparation, analysis or multivariate is a plus but not mandatory.
